Carl is a very versatile brawler with high health and high damage. His Flying Hook gadget gives him great movement to assassinate other brawlers or run away to stay alive. His Protective Pirouette Star Power gives him a shield, which makes Carl being way more tanky and having virtually 12300 HP. The Damage Gear helps Carl do even more damage to help him against long and short range brawlers. Because Flying Hook is so strong, the Gadget Cooldown Gear helps Carl succeed even more.

Other build
Carl’s Heat Ejector gadget allows him to add damage over time on his attack, making it good for area control and in heist. Power Throw is Carl’s other star power that allows his pickaxe to travel faster. This sounds good, but it pales in comparison to his other star power. Health gear can be used since Carl has a good amount of health.
Heat Ejector
The next pickaxe Carl throws will drop a trail of hot rocks behind it! Opponents that touch them are set on fire and receive 600 damage per second.
Power Throw
Carl throws his Pickaxe with 10% more speed, allowing it to travel and return faster.

Carl Brawl Stars Guide
attack
Carl’s main attack throws a pickaxe, going to max range, unless it hits a wall, and comes back dealing 1480 damage both ways. At max range, it almost always hits twice, which is a pretty hefty amount of damage, especially at that range.
Super
Carl’s super makes him spin around rapidly, giving him a speed boost and allowing him to deal close range damage. It does a pretty hefty amount of damage, at 4000 dps, so you can use it to assassinate a bunch of brawlers at close range.
Heat Ejector
Heat ejector leaves a burning area on the ground, doing extra damage and allowing for area control. Heat ejector doesn’t immediately burn enemies, like Amber’s super, so you should typically use it on the Heist safe or to block off choke points.
Flying Hook
Flying hook gives Carl lots of movement by allowing him to travel with his main attack. Use it to dodge attacks, and especially to assassinate enemies. If you’re playing against a brawler like Jessie (one of Carl’s best matchups), you can kill them 4 times per game which is very useful, all you need is super and good timing.
Power Throw
Carl’s pickaxe comes back to him faster, allowing him to attack sooner and deal more dps.
Protective Pirouette
This star power allows Carl to gain a shield during his super. Don’t underestimate the power of this star power, because it gives you an effective 12,300 hp, so sometimes if you’re in a really dire situation you can just use your super to dodge and tank.
Carl Brawl Stars Pro tips
Extra damage tip
Almost always use your attack before you super. There’s no reason not to, since it comes back while you’re in your super, essentially making it free damage. The only time you don’t want to do this is if an assassin jumps you and your pickaxe is already shot, then don’t wait and just super.
Shoot behind walls
You can essentially shoot behind walls if you attack right to the side of a wall and then move towards the wall.
Use your gadgets
Don’t be afraid to waste gadgets. If you can secure a kill with flying hook or get away with your life (especially in gamemodes like knockout or gem grab), then take that opportunity
Use your super's speed boost
Move a lot during your super. It gives you a speed boost, and any bullets dodged make a difference, even with protective pirouette.
Increase DPS
One of the biggest tips is to hit your attack against walls. Once it hits the wall, is comes back to you significantly increasing your DPS, especially with assassins, if you don’t have your super just hug a wall and spam attacks, and you’ll do a significant amount of damage. The timing is a bit difficult to get used to, so practice it if you want to get better at Carl.
