Best build
The Best Build for Kenji is Nigiri Nemesis for the Star Power and Hosomaki Healing for the Gadget. Nigiri Nemesis is very strong, especially against single-shot Brawlers. You can rush the enemies and heal, which will give you enough time to charge the shield back. It’s also very strong in passive modes. Hosomaki Healing clearly fits Kenji’s gameplay : once you rushed enemies and took much damage, you can use the Gadget to heal and continue to fight and put pressure ! In terms of gears, the Damage one will be the best for Kenji, because he must have enough damage to take down enemies quickly. You can take the Shield gear as the second one, especially in Knockout and Bounty, having extra HP can be decisive in these modes.
Hosomaki Healing
Kenji instantly heals 50% of damage taken over the last 3 seconds.

The Star Power “Studied the Blade” is not very powerful, especially compared to the other one. It can have some potential in 5v5, where you’ll hit more enemies with your Super, but it remains quite weak in other modes. The Dashi Dash Gadget is not so bad, but you’ll get less value than with the other one. It can be useful to escape, or to rush even faster a low HP enemy, but won’t be as efficient as the other one in 3v3 modes. Since the Hosomaki Healing Gadget is really strong, you can try to use the Gadget Cooldown gear instead of the Shield one, especially in Brawlball where you’ll face much more tanks and where your Gadget will be extremely useful to stay alive.

Brawl Stars Guide
attack
Kenji has two main attacks : a slash and a dash. His first attack is always a dash, then it alternates between the slash and the dash. The dash deals 1500 damage and Kenji dashes forward. The slash deals 2000 damage in a circular area in front of Kenji, and charges his Super a bit faster than the dash.
Super
Kenji jumps in the air and draws a cross with two slices, centered on the area targeted with the Super. Each slice deals 2600 damage and Kenji is completely invulnerable while jumping. When his cross is finished, he lands back where he was before using his Super.
Traits
Kenji heals himself when dealing damage to enemies. He gains 35% of what he dealt. This means he will gain 525 HP with his dash, 700 with his slash and 910 with his Super. This ability is crazy broken and enables him to keep pressure way longer than other Assassins and becoming impossible to kill for low DPS brawlers.
Dashi Dash
Kenji’s main attack will only dash for the 3 next seconds. His slash won’t be available for these 3 seconds. This Gadget can be extremely useful when escaping or chasing someone, because Kenji reloads very fast and can close the gap within seconds. However, you shouldn’t use this Gadget in the middle of a fight, because the slash is more efficient than the dash in terms of pure battle.
Hosomaki Healing
Kenji heals half of every damage taken during the last 3 seconds. This Gadget makes Kenji even more aggressive, since he can rush enemies and heal instantly if he receives too much damage. Use it only when you just lost many HP, to maximize its value.
Studied the Blade
The slices of Kenji’s Super are 30% longer. He can reach a bit more distance with his Super and hit enemies that are very far from him.
Nigiri Nemesis
Whenever Kenji did not receive any damage during the last 5 seconds, he gets a 60% shield for the next attack. This Shield is insane and can clutch some 1v1 interactions. With this Star Power, you must sometimes stay a bit passive to charge the shield back before fighting again.

Brawl Stars Pro tips
No dash on counters
When facing a counter, or a Brawler that deals high damage at close range, don’t use your dash on them, because you won’t deal enough damage to keep up. Instead, dash around them, keeping them in the range of your second basic attack. They’ll struggle to kill you and you will be able to harass them and charge your Super easily.
Super to take gems or score a goal
When the ball is just on the line of the enemy goal, you can aim your Super so that the second dash lands on the ball. You can score like that, or get gems in Gem’s Grab with this technique. But you have to be very precise on your Super !
Play agressive when having your Super
Kenji’s Super is very strong and can make Kenji powerful even against counters. When having your Super, you can actually be really aggressive even against counters, because you’ll dodge easily. Keep your Super to dodge enemy abilities, like Shelly’s Super, and you can actually keep your lane against a counter !
