Best build
The best Star Power for Gus is clearly Spirit Animal, because the damage increase is excellent, and Gus is able to cycle his Super quite often. This Star Power is great because it makes Gus an even stronger support Brawler. In terms of Gadgets, the best one is undoubtedly Kooky Popper. You can take down enemies way more easily, and since the Gadget can be activated instantly, you can deal 4480 damage within a second, which is insane. Gus lacks damage, that’s why the Damage Gear is the best one for him, no matter the mode or the map. Moreover, The Shield gear can be interesting to use with Gus, especially against snipers.
Kooky Popper
Explode all uncollected spirits, dealing 2160 damage to nearby enemies.
Shield
Gain extra 900 HEALTH as a consumable shield. The shield regenerates in 10 seconds, when at full health.
Spirit Animal
Spooky increases the damage of a teammate by 25% for 5 seconds.

The Star Power Health Bonanza is weak compared to the other one. The Gadget Soul Switcher is most of the time completely useless. Getting a spirit isn’t hard for Gus, so the other one is much better.

Gus throws a balloon that deals 2160 damage. He charges a bar in 3 hits (it becomes red after the 3 hits), and the fourth one will drop a spirit on the ground that heals 1600 for Gus’s allies when they walk on it. Gus is a really strong support Brawler, because he cycles spirits really fast. You can have as many spirits on the map as you want.
Super
If you activate the Super without aiming, it will provide a shield for Gus. If you aim and hit an ally, the shield will be for the ally. Spooky (the shield) gives a 5200 shield and knocks nearby enemies back, which makes it the best, by far, support ability in the game ! The fact that Gus cycles it in only 4 hits makes it even better. However, the shield loses 10% health (520) per second, so you have to time it right, so that your ally will fully benefit it. Spooky can go through walls.
Kooky Popper
Gus explodes all the spirits in his range at the same time, each one deals 2160 damage to enemies in a small area. This Gadget is really powerful, because it enables Gus to make more damage and prevent enemies from going next to the spirits. In Knockout or Bounty, it’s one of the easiest way to get a kill on an enemy, because this Gadget is really surprising, it’s hard to anticipate when Gus will use it.
Soul Switcher
Gus loses 5% health and gets his spirit bar full. This Gadget enables Gus to have more spirits during the game. Use it when you just drop a spirit to have a new spirit instantly in order to maximize this Gadget.
Health Bonanza
Gus’ spirits now heal 3200 HP instead of 1600. When using this Star Power, try to place your spirits close from your team, so that your allies can benefit the healing easily. It’s very useful to improve support ability from the spirits, since Gus cycle them every 4 hits.
Spirit Animal
Allies hit by Spooky deal 25% more damage for the next 5 seconds. This Star Power is insanely good in 3v3 modes, because Gus improves allies’ health and damage, to make them invincible. You can even use Spooky on an ally just to boost the damage so that he can finish an enemy, because Gus gets Spooky back pretty fast. This damage buff also works on Gus if he uses Spooky for himself.

Hit + Gadget on a weak enemy
With the Gadget Kooky Popper, when your spirit bar is full (which means the next hit will drop a spirit), wait for an enemy below 4480 HP, and when you hit them, activate the Gadget instantly. The enemy can’t dodge the spirit and it’s a free kill.
Don't waste your Gadget for nothing !
Don’t use the Kooky Popper Gadget every time you drop a spirit. You only have 3/4 Gadgets per game, but you will drop way more spirits. Wait for the right moment, so the Gadget can help you finish an enemy. Remember, the spirit is also really powerful for its healing ability. It’s much more useful to get 1600 (or 3200) HP thanks to a spirit than dealing 2240 damage to an enemy that will hide and heal right after.
Use the shield to score in Brawlball
When you (or your teammate) are close from the enemy goal, you can use your shield on yourself to have extra HP and go directly into the goal to score. The shield makes you very tanky so won’t have any difficulties to score the goal.
Control areas with your spirit
When an enemy is almost dead and you have a spirit on one side of the map, you can go to the other side to chase the enemy, because they can’t go next to the spirit or they’ll die. Generally, you can control lanes with your spirit.
